These establishments were selected by me because I frequent them and have found them to generally be consistent with Food and service. Certainly, you understand that 5 stars here should not be compared to some of the finest restaurants in the world, however, the restaurants listed here are to us, all “5 Stars, locally”. I don’t rate restaurants as that becomes very subjective. If I have omitted your favorite restaurant that should be no indication that your favorite isn’t good. I have been dining here since 1960.
First, let me say this restaurant is not a tourist trap. I hear this frequently from locals. The Ocean Grill didn’t become the “most successful restaurant in the area” because it’s a tourist trap. It’s successful because the food is excellent, the service is terrific, and the views are some of the best in Vero Beach.

This restaurant has held the position of # 1 for at least 20 years. The reason is simple Chef Leanne Kelleher and her staff are a real team. Chef Leanne has been in Vero ever since she graduated from the CIA. She worked for the best Chef’s in Vero. Chef Leanne knows the Vero dining crowd better than just about anyone. Her entire life is the TIDES. Holiday reservations are booked years in advance.

Chef Kitty has been in Vero Beach for many years and has owned numerous restaurants. In addition to No Reservations, No Phone, and No Website there is NO name on her Restaurant except “48”.
Zandra Simms one of the best Restaurant people on the Treasure Coast. She is always keeping an eye on everything. Always good creative food, Fantastic service. We LOVE this place!
At Vinz, they offer a unique dining experience that’s perfect for every occasion. Their curated wine list is second to none, showcasing only the finest wines from around the globe. Their raw bar is something truly special and unique to area while their dinner menu provides several options for guests looking try a few appetizers or have a fine dining experience. Their outdoor seating provides a lively ambiance with live music nightly, while Their intimate bar is perfect for guests looking to unwind and enjoy a drink or two.
Excellent food and service. The Venue is fresh from Italy. You start believing you are there. Reasonably priced. Summer menu and specials.
Now here is something I seldom do, I’ve not been here yet, however I hear wonderful things from my valued associates. They say the food is fantastic and they treat you like family. I will be here soon. I understand reservations are a MUST!

Wow- food and service was fantastic. Menu items inventive and delicious! We had the duck sausage and Brie salad as appetizers- high recommend. As our main swordfish- perfection! And trout TV dinner. Server Amy was wonderful as well. Don’t miss this treasure!

Great food and service. For you older folks the restaurant can be loud on full nights. Our group chooses slower hours. Nonetheless, we LOVE this place!
The open kitchen and customizable selections aim to engage guests. We serve classic selections like our Hand-Cut Black Angus Steaks on a sizzling lava stone. Diners can also customize entrée selections with a choice of preparation style, sauce, and temperature. Indulge in a Cuban Classic, Paella a la Costa, a Calasparra Rice Dish filled with Clams, Mussels, Scallops, Shrimp, Chorizo, Chicken, Peppers, and Peas. Green Marlin Restaurant & Raw Bar opened in August 2017 by owner & operator, Lou Kolbauer. Our goal was to provide a relaxing atmosphere for Vero Beach residents to be able to enjoy the freshest seafood. We felt Vero Beach was missing a casual sit-down restaurant that offered fresh oysters & top notch seafood at an affordable price. We want the Green Marlin to be your first choice in Vero for seafood. We order fresh seafood every day but only enough for one day.
Lou is also the proud owner of Chive Restaurant, in Vero Beach, Florida. Chive is a local favorite for Quick, Creative Cuisine and has been since 2013. If you have not stopped in, try Chive for lunch or dinner. Be sure to keep an eye out for a Chive coming to your neighborhood.
Prior to opening, Lou spent months painting, cleaning, & personally designing all the artwork throughout the restaurant. Take a few minutes to enjoy the recycled pallets, turned artwork. During the Pandemic, we transformed a portion of our dining room into a market to sell every day grocery items in a smaller environment. This allowed us to keep our employees working and provide meals to our guests. We love this community and will continue to serve our guests within the guidelines provided to ensure everyone’s health & safety.
In early 2023, we expanded our establishment by opening a Tiki Bar for your outdoor dining pleasure. Please be patient as we work our the dynamics of this new area. During busy times, we may only provide drinks & appetizers while guests wait for their tables. We are working to schedule live music as many nights as possible. We currently have live music scheduled for Fridays, some Thursdays & Saturdays, and continue to expand that schedule.
Simply the BEST Coffee in Vero Beach. Chef Michael Glotz is a master coffee expert. No one on the Treasure Coast knows as much as Chef Michael about coffee. The Food is outstanding. The service is superb. Our words can not possibly do justice to describing what a terrific person he is. Not only one of Vero’s Beaches best chefs but also one of the best business owners/managers here on the Treasure Coast. If you haven’t been to 1420 Coffee House you are missing out. Try it I promise you will return again and again. We will be doing a special article on Chef Michael very soon. It will be posted here.
The Seaside Grill is back! Finally! Very beachy, fun, nice people. Good Food, great service, Great views. Comfort food for breakfast & lunch is served at this comfy oceanfront venue with outside tables. They are working on getting a Beer & Wine License, hopefully soon. Stay Tuned.

Article from VeroNews.com: Scampi’s a color chef-owner Alex Amelio would have seen adding a dollop of cream to a purée of plum tomatoes long before he started working with his father Mimmo, who opened Scampi across from the Patio restaurant in 2000. (Scampi is just one of a half-dozen local restaurants that have been owned at one time or another by Mimmo’s extended family, who moved here from Naples, Italy.)
A chip off the old block, Alex loved cooking even as a child, helping out his mother Grazia in the kitchen. When he was 15, he got a job at Brian Gilbert’s Black Pearl, and within weeks was working under lead sous-chef Leanne Kelleher, now chef-owner of the Tides.
He knew he loved restaurant work, the split-second timing of the dinner rush, the nimble people skills that kept a staff loyal, the relentless pressure on vendors to deliver only the best ingredients. And of course the creation of the dishes.
Alex knew he didn’t fit the mold his father envisioned for him, a life as a professional like his two brothers.
“He didn’t want us to have anything to do with the restaurant business, and I don’t blame him,” says Alex, now married to Emerald, his high school sweetheart, and father to four children under the age of 8. He says his dad knew how restaurant work impacted family life and didn’t want his sons to make that sacrifice.
“But like I said, I was never one to listen to anybody anyways. Finally, he said, ‘Come join the team.’”
Alex was only 19 when he took over the apron from his dad. From the start, each had his turf. “You stay out of my kitchen, I’ll stay out of the front,” he told his dad. “It actually worked awesome.”
With time, Alex has enabled his father to take semi-retirement. “I went in, and Dad went home.”
“It was great because it was a blank canvas. I didn’t have to worry about busting up concrete. I can do whatever I want,” says Alex.
The kitchen is open, a feature Alex enjoys.
The Tuscan-themed décor will feature natural wood and stone elements against walls in a warm red-orange created by Alex himself. “I took two paints and mixed them together. My dad said it was the coolest color he’s ever seen – the coolest warm color,” he notes in a nod to his dad’s talent as an abstract artist.
“It’ll still be cozy,” he says.
The Creperie has been a favorite of ours for several years now. First, we love the room. We have been dining in this room since Chef Yanik Martin opened this establishment, then known as Chez Yannick. Now the restaurant is operated by Dan Wise and & Colleen Carr. Once again always excellent food and friendly service. This is our weekend go-to place for Breakfast or brunch.

We have been dining here since this family came to Vero. Dario and his wife are one of the hardest-working restaurant couples in Vero Beach. They also own Chelsea’s Gourmet Market and Cafe on Cardinal. Chelsea’s was originally owned by John Marx who is a serial restaurant owner here. John currently owns the Polo Deli and was the former owner of Polo Grill. Dario’s has a very busy bar where Vero congregates before dinner. The Italian food is top drawer. You won’t be disappointed other than if you don’t have a reservation. Reservations are an absolute must in summer and winter.
Cuisine
Citrus is an American bistro-style, casual oceanfront restaurant. Dishes are simple classics with Italian and Mediterranean-inspired origins. Executive Chef Scott Varricchio’s creative plates have been described as “approachable comfort food bursting with flavor.” The menu changes with the seasons using regionally grown produce and specialty meats and seafood.
